Colorado Prepares for Solar Convention

In the next few weeks, representatives from the solar power industry in Colorado will meet at the Embassy Suites Convention Center in Loveland for the state’s largest business-to-business solar conference and expo. The event will take place February 9-11.

According to the Northern Colorado Business Report, executives from some of the state’s biggest solar employers, including Abound Solar, Advanced Energy, SkyFuel and Ascent Solar, will come together to discuss the state of the solar power industry in the U.S. The executives plan to work together to address current challenges the industry faces and talk about new technological advancements in solar.

Neal Lurie, the executive director of the nonprofit Colorado Solar Energy Industries Association, helped to produce the event and affirms that it is necessary to address the ever-changing solar power industry: “Colorado’s solar industry is changing at an unprecedented pace,” he said, affirming “Solar Power Colorado helps business leaders understand the latest changes to better position their organizations for the tremendous opportunities ahead.”

There are currently 5,300 people employed in the state’s solar industry. In total, Colorado solar companies have contributed nearly $500 million in private investment to the state’s economy.
